Starke Liquid THOR Nano Ceramic Marine Coating
Starke Liquid THOR — Nano Ceramic Marine Coating Built for Pacific Northwest Conditions
Liquid THOR is an advanced marine-grade nano ceramic coating engineered with the professional installer in mind. Its sophisticated low-VOC carrier agent delivers exceptional work time — a critical advantage when coating large vessel surfaces in the Pacific Northwest’s variable temperatures and humidity. The formula efficiently suspends and transfers high concentrations of SiO2/TiO2 nano particles and UV inhibitors directly into gel coat, marine paint, glass, metal, vinyl, plastic, and isinglass.
For PNW boaters dealing with relentless rain, Puget Sound salt air, and UV exposure during Washington summers, THOR creates a chemically bonded hydrophobic barrier that sheds water on contact, resists mineral contamination, and holds up through wet winters and high-UV summer seasons on the water.
New & Improved Formula
Liquid THOR features an updated formula with enhanced visibility during application — a distinct ‘sweating’ action signals that a richer, more substantial layer of solids is being deposited for superior long-term performance. Same long working time you trust, now with better feedback during installation.
Why PNW Marine Detailers Choose Liquid THOR
- Long working time — low-VOC carrier agent gives installers extended open time, essential for large boat surfaces and cooler PNW temperatures
- SiO2/TiO2 nano particle formula — high-concentration ceramic particles bond deeply to porous gel coat for durable, long-lasting protection
- Built-in UV inhibitors — shields gel coat and marine paint from Washington’s summer UV cycles that accelerate oxidation and fading
- Hydrophobic water-shedding — repels Puget Sound rain, salt spray, and hard water before it can etch or stain
- Enhanced application visibility — sweating action confirms proper solid deposition, reducing installer error on large panels
- Multi-surface compatibility — bonds to gel coat, marine paint, glass, metal, vinyl, plastic, and isinglass
How to Apply
Ensure the surface is fully corrected, decontaminated, and IPA-wiped before application. Apply with a suede applicator using thin, consistent strokes. Watch for the sweating action — this confirms the coating is depositing a rich layer of solids. Once the flash pattern appears, level with two clean microfibers (primary leveling towel + insurance towel). Allow 24–48 hours with no water contact for initial cure, and 7–14 days for full hardness development.
